Devil Guitars Tasmania "1947" Acoustic/Electric License Plate Guitar

Regular price $1,250.00

Devil Guitars Tasmania "1947" Acoustic/Electric License Plate Guitar from Justin Johnson's personal collection.
Justin has been playing this guitar since his 2014 Smoke & Mirrors Tour.  During the month that this tour was in Australia, Justin only played instruments that were built locally in Australia.  In Tasmania, he teamed up with Devil Guitars Tasmania, who builds guitars out of repurposed objects, like this vintage license plate from Alabama.  The guitar sounded and played so sweet, that Justin played it for the rest of the tour and for years on the road back in the US.

Here's a link to an article in The Examiner Newspaper, Launceston Tasmania, with a super fun mention of this guitar: https://www.examiner.com.au/story/2161689/a-wizard-on-cigar-box-guitar/

The soundboard for this guitar is a 1947 license plate from Alabama.  The box and neck are constructed using locally sourced Tasmanian timbers.  The electronics consist of a rod piezo in the bridge and pre-amp with volume and tone control.  The intonation and action are great for fretted or slide playing.

• This guitar comes with an Autographed Certificate of Authenticity
• Autographed by Justin Johnson on back of guitar
