This 6-string lap steel guitar, built by Charles Atchison, author of "The Folk Art Instrument Builders Reference."
This guitar is a perfect combination of rootsy, re-purposed construction and classy tone that's smooth as glass. The neck and internal bracing are solid oak. The body is constructed from a re-purposed wooden cigar box. The single-coil Gretsch pickup has a pure, vintage voice, reminiscent of those classic early lap steel and Hawaiian guitars. The sustain is long and strong, and the tone is buttery smooth. The volume and tone knobs give you plenty of control over the sound.
